A disturbance of the mineral metabolism makes it mandatory that we change from a diet that produces too much acid to one yielding an alkaline surplus. In the first place meat, especially sausages, cold meats, all kinds of processed meat and beef soups, as well as foods cooked with eggs and cheese, should be avoided wherever possible. If you feel you cannot give up meat entirely, at least confine yourself to freshly prepared unprocessed meat and keep off all preserved meats, sausages and processed meats.
Secondly, stay off all processed foods, white sugar, white flour products, canned foods, in other words everything that is no longer in its natural state or original form. The diet should consist of potatoes, cereals, unpolished brown rice, fresh vegetables and fresh fruit or naturally dried (unsulphured) fruit and vegetables containing no chemical additives or preservatives.
The simpler and more natural the diet, the greater will be its contribution to our all-round health, well-being and long life.
